Vigier is the new partner of Swiss Madaster platform
Vigier, a subsidiary of the Vicat group, has joined the Madaster on-line platform to help advance waste reduction and promote circular economy in the Swiss construction and real-estate industry.
Madaster, a tie between partners for the long view
Vigier is one of Switzerland’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of cement and other products used in railway construction and waste management. The Vicat-group subsidiary, which is active on thriving markets supplied by more than 7,500 manufacturers and outsourcers, has joined forces with several other Swiss companies to finance the Madaster on-line platform.
Madaster is a global on-line register for data relating to materials and products in real estate. Through its data services, Madaster brings transparency to the circular and financial value of a building and facilitates circular economy. As a partner of this not-for-profit NGO based in Zürich, Vigier is supporting the financial and strategic development of the platform for Switzerland.
What are the objectives? To enhance the appeal of the on-line register of materials and to accelerate transition to a construction sector based on the principles of circular economy.
Ultimately, a circular value chain in construction
Vigier places the greatest importance on the preservation of natural resources in its daily activities. Through this partnership with the Madaster on-line platform, our Swiss subsidiary is making an active contribution to the establishment of circular value chains. This project is a means of future-proofing the company and the industry as a whole.
Madaster Switzerland was founded as a not-for-profit NGO at the end of 2018. It is based in Zürich. The first partners of Madaster Switzerland were Eberhard Unternehmungen, Losinger Marazzi, Raiffeisen Switzerland Cooperative, Swiss Re, and Swiss Prime Site. Switzerland’s Research Centre for Rationalization in Building (CRB) is a partner for data. And the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) is supporting Madaster which it sees as the first concrete initiative for carrying the sector into circularity. Vigier has been partnering Madaster since the summer of 2019.
